The Ministry of the Environment adopted three Joint Crediting Mechanism (JCM) project proposed by Kawasaki City for FY2018

The three projects (two for Indonesia and one for Myanmar) were to be implemented through city-to-city collaboration for the development of low carbon societies.

Project overview
This is a project aiming at installing energy-saving technologies for air conditioning into the 10 office buildings centered in Jakarta with the cooperation of PT. Azbil Berca Indonesia (local subsidiary of Azbil Corporation in Indonesia), which has many experiences in making buildings more energy-efficient. Kawasaki City will also share its knowledge of developing an advanced and environmentally-friendly community (Kawasaki Eco-Town) to promote green building, one of the key issues in DKI Jakarta.

Project overview
Considering the use of the subsidy for the JCM model project as its next step, this project, under the JCM city-to-city collaboration between Kawasaki and DKI Jakarta, is planned to aim at the materialization of measures making the existing facilities more energy-efficient by identifying the current condition of the air conditioning, heat utilization or waste heat recovery of the existing facilities in various factories located in the Jakarta region as well as examining for any improvement potentials.

JCM project formulation through city-to-city collaboration between Kawasaki and Yangon (utilization of energy and energy saving in a fruit and vegetable market)
Project overview
The objective of this project is to use organic waste from Danyingone fruit and vegetable market newly established by Dagon Group as biogas by methane-fermenting such waste with the advanced WTM system. Reducing CO2 emissions by suppressing the emission of CH4 resulting from open dumping, and by supplying electric power generated from biogas to the market will also be considered in this project.
