Mikuniya Corporation was selected by the Ministry of the Environment for “Project for Overseas Expansion of Japanese Waste Management and Recycling Industries”

Mikuniya Corporation, a GIC member company, applied for the Ministry of the Environment’s “Project for Overseas Expansion of Japanese Waste Management and Recycling Industries” and was selected.

In order to support the overseas expansion of circular industries based on the needs of each country in the field of waste treatment and recycling, in the next few years, the “Project for Overseas Expansion of Japanese Waste Management and Recycling Industries” program will conduct feasibility studies related to businesses that provide services related to waste treatment, etc. overseas or businesses that are commissioned by waste treatment operators, etc. to carry out facility construction overseas.

As of 2022, Costa Rica is an “environmental nation” – one-quarter of the country’s land is designated as a national park or biological reserve, the country is the birthplace of ecotourism, and more than 98% of domestic electricity is generated by renewable energy. However, no recycling system has been developed for the 1.526 million tons of waste generated annually, and almost all waste is sent to landfill.

Taking advantage of its experience in Vietnam, Mikuniya Corporation will contribute to building a resource recycling-oriented society by starting studies related to developing a business model in the environmental nation Costa Rica that uses the Mishimax® organic waste reduction device to reduce the volume of raw waste and then return it to farmland as compost.
