Since 2014, through the Ministry of the Environment’s Japan-China inter-city cooperation project, Kawasaki has been working together with Shenyang, a sister city, to improve air quality. In next three years from 2016, the city will carry out joint research with Shenyang to tackle particulate matter (PM 2.5) pollution.
